Aura Planned CBD Source: Sunshine Coast Daily
The newest city on the Sunshine Coast was revealed last week. With a working name of AURA the $5 billion development to be delivered by Stockland will eventually be home to 50,000 people.Set to take form over the next three decades, the city will include a massive 700 hectares of designated conservation area, a Southbank style beach, sport and recreational facilities.Employment will mainly be in the building industry to start, with 1700 jobs initially, growing more to staff the 20 schools and new city centre at completion.
Confidence, in general, on the coast is strong and increasing.Driving around the region between Caloundra and Noosa you can see numerous cranes, building sites, loads of tourists and full shopping centres.Noticeably the hospital site is growing to unimaginable proportions, with the surrounding suburb of Birtinya filling up with homes. Each day the local paper is outlining a new development or a Company looking to expand to the coast.
This confidence is reinforced by the recent news that the Sunshine Coast continued a population growth rate of 2.5% against the state wide figure of 1.3% (in the 12 months to March 31).This equates to 6500 new residents per annum.
