Capital Growth on Land Values

Ann Lindner - Thursday, May 12, 2016

The Valuer-General has released figures for 100,000 coast properties; residential property values in Peachester have jumped by $18.4% , 25% in Cooroy, 14.4% in Yandina and 10.7% in Pomona.

This can be attributed to a growing demand for acreage. People want their own bit of dirt where they can grow vegetables, have chickens and some space away from the neighbours.

The average residential valuation increase in the Sunshine Coast Council area was 4.8%, and in Noosa it was 5%. The Valuer General said residential values had risen in most localities in the Sunshine Coast and Noosa areas but values had not changed much for commercial, industrial and multi-unit properties.
