Recent data complied by Conus economists displays unemployment on the Sunshine Coast is down to 5 percent - the level now accepted as full employment.
The job creation led by the health sector and boosted by the opening of the new hospitals has seen the Sunshine Coast unemployment rate fall below Brisbane's (5.4%) for the second year in a row.
Of the 13,200 new positions created in 2017; more than half were part time and around 6200 full time. The health sector created more than half the new positions, other employment leaders were transport, postal, warehousing sector adding 2700, and construction adding 2300 jobs.
